About

I am a linocut printmaker, living in Wells, Somerset. My prints are often inspired by the local medieval architecture.

I studied Fine Art at Somerset College of Arts and Technology (1979) and a BA Honours degree in Fine Art at Wolverhampton University (1982).

All my prints are hand-made. I often use the reduction method for my colour prints, cutting away more lino, from a single block, for each successive colour. I find lino an exciting medium, each cut is a commitment, the anticipation builds as each layer is revealed. Making my prints by hand creates slight variations, so that every print is unique.

I am a member of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen and my work can be seen at the Guild gallery, at 23a Broad Street, Wells. I run linocut printmaking workshops at the Guild, ask at the gallery for more details.

I am also a member of Somerset Art Works.
